Mini Cooper S 4-Door Joins MINI Takes The States For Its North American Debut
The latest additions to the MINI family make a bold statement as the MINI Cooper S 4-door joins thousands of MINI owners on a cross-country road trip. As MINI enthusiasts from across the United States prepare for the biennial MINI TAKES THE STATES rally, MINI USA is introducing the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S 4-door at the Rise & Rally kickoff event in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The next-generation five-seater brings a futuristic flair unique in its category, with a combination of traditional and modern styling coupled with innovative assistance systems. While their physical dimensions closely resemble their predecessors, the new models find ways to maximize space while maintaining a low profile. Short overhangs, clean surfaces, and expressive accents lend them their unmistakable charisma.
Inside, digital innovations and an immersive user experience elevate the MINI DNA to new heights. The rear of the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S 4-door features a noticeably wider interior, providing comfortable space for three passengers. The 60:40 folding rear seats also increase luggage compartment capacity from 9.71 cubic feet to up to 32.66 cubic feet.
Despite their larger bodies compared to the traditional 2-door counterparts, these models emphasize agility, quickness, and fun on the road. Two efficient internal combustion engines paired with a modern chassis and precise steering deliver the same go-kart feeling that MINI owners cherish.
The new MINI Cooper S 4-door will offer ten color choices in the U.S., with roof options including body color, black, white, or a blue multi-tone roof with a gradual color gradient based on trims and styles chosen. Three styling packages will be available: Classic, Favoured, and JCW.
The Classic Style offers roof colors in body color, black or white. The Favoured Style features Vibrant Silver finishes for design elements and an option for a unique blue multitone roof blending Glazed White with Indigo Sunset Blue and San Marino Blue. The JCW Style emphasizes sportiness with features like the JCW Aero Kit, high gloss black wheel spats, gloss black brake calipers with JCW logos, and more.
Performance Specifications
In the US market, the MINI Cooper S 4-door will come equipped with a 201 SAE hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 221 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through the front wheels via a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. Production is expected to begin this month with first models arriving at dealers in September 2024.
Base price for the MINI Cooper S 4-Door will be $33,200 MSRP plus $995 destination and handling fees. Pricing details for the MINI Cooper 4-door will be available later this year as it approaches market launch.
MINI TAKES THE STATES Rally
The estimated 3,000 participants of the owner rally will get an exclusive opportunity to witness the future of the new MINI family before embarking on hundreds of miles across western United States. "Many of our most loyal ‘MINIacs’ will be driving across the country with us all week," said Mike Peyton, Vice President of MINI of the Americas. "This is truly the perfect setting to get our owners excited about the debut of the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S 4-door."
