2025 MINI Convertible Unveiled In Pantone Mocha Mousse At New York City Launch Event
MINI USA and Pantone joined forces to celebrate the 2025 Pantone Color of the Year at an event in New York City on December 5. The new 2025 MINI Cooper Convertible, arriving in January 2025, was showcased in PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, the chosen color for 2025. Although this color was a highlight at the event, it will not be available on future MINI models.
The event offered a sensory experience with immersive exhibitions and creative installations that highlighted the Pantone Color of the Year. The centerpiece was the 2025 MINI Convertible, embodying the bold spirit of this year's celebrated hue. This collaboration between MINI and Pantone was a natural fit, as both brands share a passion for bold design and creativity through color.
For many years, MINI has embraced individuality through its vibrant color palette, featuring shades like Chili Red and British Racing Green. Partnering with Pantone to unveil the Color of the Year aligns with MINI's tradition of celebrating design and innovation. The 2025 MINI Cooper Convertible exemplifies MINI's "Always Open" philosophy by offering an exhilarating open-air driving experience. These models now reflect the spirit of this vibrant new hue following their exclusive unveiling. Ideal for city streets or scenic drives, these convertibles combine iconic design with advanced technology.
The 2025 MINI Convertible comes in 11 different colors depending on trim level, including Sunny Side Yellow and Ocean Wave Green. Built at the Oxford plant, it features a fully automatic soft top that opens in just 18 seconds at speeds up to 18.6 mph. The Always Open Timer tracks time spent enjoying fresh air driving on a central OLED screen.
Available in two engine variants—the MINI Cooper Convertible and Cooper S Convertible—these models offer efficient four-cylinder engines. The Cooper delivers 161 horsepower while the Cooper S provides 201 horsepower for an exciting ride. With charismatic design and digital features, they balance tradition with modernity effortlessly.
Pricing and Availability
The new models will be available at U.S. dealerships starting January 2025. The MINI Cooper Convertible starts at $33,950 while the Cooper S Convertible is priced at $37,200 (plus $995 destination and handling). These convertibles offer customizable exterior finishes and interiors focused on simplicity and personalization.
MINI operates as an independent brand under BMW Group in the United States through BMW of North America, LLC based in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Since launching in 2002 with the MINI Cooper Hardtops, MINI USA has expanded to include five unique vehicle models sold through a network of 105 dealers nationwide.
