Mid-Size SUV Sales Surge In October 2024: Hyundai Creta Maintains Top Position
Mid-size SUVs have become increasingly popular due to their roomy interiors. This trend has led to a rise in sales for models like the Hyundai Creta and Mahindra Scorpio. Other mid-size SUVs in the market have also experienced a boost in sales. Recent data for the top 10 mid-size SUVs sold in October 2024 highlights this trend.
SUVs measuring between 4.1 and 4.4 meters in length are categorised as mid-size. Among these, the Hyundai Creta stands out as the top seller, maintaining its position as Hyundai's best-selling model in India during October.
In the previous month, Hyundai sold 17,497 units of the Creta, compared to 13,077 units in October 2023. This represents a significant 34% increase in sales for the Creta.
Following closely, Mahindra Scorpio secured the second spot among mid-size SUVs sold last month. The Scorpio is available in two variants: Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic. Together, they achieved sales of 15,677 units in October.
In October 2023, Mahindra sold 13,578 Scorpios. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki's Grand Vitara ranked third with sales of 14,083 units. This is an improvement from the 10,834 units sold in October 2023.
The Mahindra XUV700 claimed fourth place with 10,435 units sold last month. This is an increase from the 9,297 units sold in October last year, marking a 12% rise in sales for the XUV700.
KIA Seltos took fifth place with sales of 6,365 units last month. However, this is a decline from over 12,000 units sold in October 2023, indicating a significant drop of 49%.
Toyota Hyryder and Tata CURVV followed in sixth and seventh positions with sales figures of 5,449 and 5,351 respectively. The Tata CURVV is a new entrant in the mid-size SUV segment.
Remaining Top Sellers
The Skoda Kushaq occupied eighth place with sales of 2,213 units. Completing the top ten list are Hyundai Alcazar with 2,204 units and Tata Safari with 2,086 units sold.
