MG Motor India has unveiled its latest electric vehicle, the Windsor, marking a significant addition to its lineup. This launch is MG's first in over a year and represents their third EV offering in India. Buyers can choose between purchasing the Windsor outright or opting for a battery subscription plan. The subscription plan starts at Rs 9.99 lakh with an additional Rs 3.5 per km for battery usage, while the standalone price begins at Rs 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Windsor EV Variants and Features
The MG Windsor EV comes in three distinct variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence, each offering unique features and pricing to cater to diverse customer needs. The base model, Excite, is priced at Rs 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It includes LED lighting, flush door handles, fabric seats, a 10-inch touchscreen, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with wireless connectivity. Additional features include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, reclining rear seats, cruise control, and a six-speaker sound system.
Safety a priority across all Windsor variants. Standard safety features include six airbags, an electronic stability program, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, and an electric parking brake. The Excite variant is available in Pearl White and comes equipped with a 3.3 kW portable charging cable and home charging box.
Mid-Range Exclusive Variant
Priced at Rs 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the mid-range Exclusive variant enhances the driving experience with added luxury and technology features. It boasts 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome finishes, leather interiors, a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen display, and an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel. Power-adjustable seats and a wireless smartphone charger are also included.
The Exclusive variant offers additional connected car features for enhanced convenience and safety upgrades such as a 360-degree camera and LED cornering lights. Available in Pearl White and Starburst Black colours, this variant provides an elevated driving experience.
Top-Spec Essence Variant
The top-spec Essence variant stands out with premium offerings priced at Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It introduces a panoramic glass roof that adds to the vehicle's aesthetic appeal along with ambient lighting for enhanced interior ambiance. A nine-speaker audio system ensures superior sound quality while ventilated front seats provide added comfort.
This variant also offers the option of a 7.4 kW AC Fast Charger for quicker charging times compared to other models. Available in four colours—Turquoise Green, Starburst Black, Clay Beige, and Pearl White—the Essence caters to those seeking luxury combined with advanced technology.
