MG Windsor EV To Be Equipped With Reclining Rear Seats & Other Premium Features
The MG Windsor EV is set to launch in the coming months, positioned above the Comet. MG has partially revealed the Windsor's interior, hinting at its feature list, including recling rear seats.
Dealer sources indicate that the Windsor will be available around late September this year. The EV is expected to be priced under Rs 20 lakh, competing with models such as the Tata Nexon EV, certain variants of the ZS EV, Tata's Curvv EV, and Mahindra XUV400 EV.
MG Windsor: Interior Features
MG has showcased the rear passenger area of the Windsor EV, confirming several features. These include rear AC vents, a three-passenger rear seat with dedicated three-point seat belts for all occupants, a rear centre armrest, and faux leather seats with large honeycomb pattern stitching. Additionally, MG Motor India states that the rear seats can recline up to 135 degrees.
The teaser also highlights ample legroom in the rear compartment, which appears more than sufficient for a five-passenger vehicle. This suggests a comfortable ride for all occupants.
Battery Options and Powertrain
While specifications for the India-bound Windsor haven't been disclosed yet, it offers two battery pack options overseas: 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh. These provide ranges of 360km and 460km respectively. The models are powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 134hp.
MG Motor India has confirmed that battery and powertrain components for the Windsor will be sourced from Indian suppliers. This means power output and range might differ from international versions.
The upcoming MG Windsor will be a five-seater vehicle with likely two battery options. It aims to offer competitive features and performance in its segment.
The company has not yet revealed detailed specifications for the Indian market but promises significant localisation in its components. Also, the MG Windsor is expected to attract buyers looking for an affordable yet feature-rich electric vehicle in India’s growing EV market.
