MG Windsor EV Deliveries Start In India: Luxury & Sustainability
MG Motor India has started delivering the MG Windsor EV, a new electric vehicle that has been well-received in the market. The car boasts a 38kWh battery, offering a range of 332km on a single charge. It supports fast charging with a 45kW DC charger, allowing the battery to go from 10% to 80% in just 55 minutes.
The company has introduced an innovative pricing strategy called Battery as a Service (BaaS). This allows customers to rent the battery, significantly reducing the initial cost of the vehicle. The BaaS program is also available for other models like Comet and ZS EV, making electric vehicles more accessible.

MG Windsor EV Features
The MG Windsor EV is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (Ex-showroom) with BaaS. Buyers also benefit from one year of free charging, comprehensive warranty, and buyback plans. Without BaaS, the starting price is Rs 13.5 lakh (Ex-showroom), still competitive given its features and comfort.
Externally, the Windsor EV includes pop-out flush door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels, and all-LED lighting. Inside, it offers ample space for both front and rear passengers. The interior is equipped with high-quality materials and excellent fit and finish to appeal to tech-savvy buyers.
Marketing Campaigns
MG Motor India has launched a "Live Business Class" campaign to promote the Windsor EV as a comfortable vehicle in its segment. A TV commercial highlights its luxurious features by comparing it to business class travel experiences. This aligns with their strategy to position the car as a premium mobility solution.
The TVC depicts a family enjoying both business class air travel and the comfort of the MG Windsor EV. It showcases features like a panoramic glass roof, Aero-lounge seats that recline up to 135 degrees, ambient lighting, and a large infotainment screen.
The introduction of BaaS has been pivotal in MG's strategy to boost electric vehicle adoption in India. By offering flexible battery rental options, they have made owning an electric vehicle more affordable for many customers.
The MG Windsor EV's launch has been successful with over 15K bookings on its first day alone. Deliveries began during the festive season, adding to its appeal among Indian consumers looking for eco-friendly transportation options.
