MG Partners With Vertelo | 3000 EVs To Be Delivered To Improve Charging Infrastructure

Morris Garages (MG) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vertelo, a platform managing fleet electrification, backed by Macquarie and funded by the Green Climate Fund. This collaboration aims to deliver 3,000 MG electric vehicles (EVs) to Vertelo in phases and to strengthen the EV charging network across India.

Gaurav Gupta, the Chief Growth Officer at MG India, emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing electric mobility solutions and the EV infrastructure. He stated that the partnership with Vertelo aligns with MG's vision for a sustainable future through decarbonization in India.

This collaboration is expected to support the expansion of advanced e-mobility solutions for passengers and encourage the rapid adoption of EVs in the country.

Sandeep Gambhir, the CEO of Vertelo, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting it as a pivotal step towards fleet electrification and achieving net-zero emissions. He anticipates that the range of electric vehicles MG plans to introduce, along with Vertelo's integrated electrification solutions, will significantly contribute to promoting sustainable transportation.

MG's current electric vehicle offerings include the MG Comet, dubbed the Smart EV, designed for urban mobility, and the ZS EV, India's first pure-electric internet SUV, known for its spacious and luxurious interior.

MG India has been actively involved in building a comprehensive EV charging infrastructure, partnering with various ecosystem partners such as Exicom Telesystems, ElectreeFi, and more, to install 7.4kW chargers across approximately 50 major cities. Additionally, the company has engaged in partnerships for battery recycling and life extension, further highlighting its commitment to environmental sustainability.

The collaboration aims to leverage Vertelo's expertise in setting up a robust EV charging infrastructure across India, supporting MG's commitment to fostering a greener future.

By expanding the charging network, the partnership will encourage more consumers to adopt electric vehicles, addressing concerns about range anxiety and accessibility to charging stations. This initiative aligns with the government's vision of increasing electric vehicle adoption and reducing carbon emissions in the country.

Through this strategic alliance, MG and Vertelo are not only contributing to the growth of the electric vehicle market but also paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable transportation system in India.

By working together to build a comprehensive charging infrastructure, the partnership sets a benchmark for other automakers and charging infrastructure providers to collaborate towards a greener and more eco-friendly future.
