MG Windsor EV Electric MPV To Be Launched Tomorrow: Boasts Advanced Tech & 400km Range
MG Motor India is gearing up to unveil the Windsor EV and its pricing on 11 September. This new electric vehicle is based on the Wuling Cloud EV, which is currently available in China. With this addition, MG India's electric vehicle lineup will include three models: the ZS EV, Comet EV, and Windsor EV.
The Windsor EV features a unique design with a 'CUV' label. It boasts a full-width light bar at both the front and rear, 18-inch alloy wheels, vertically stacked headlamps, flush door handles, and a large raked windscreen paired with a short bonnet.
Windsor EV's Advanced Features
Inside, the Windsor EV is equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless connectivity. Additional features include a 360-degree surround camera, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and airline-themed rear seats with recline function. There are speculations about the absence of ADAS in this model, which will be confirmed during the launch event.
The automaker has not disclosed details about the battery pack or range for the Windsor EV yet. However, internationally, the Wuling Cloud EV offers two battery options: a 37.9kWh unit and a 50.6kWh unit. These provide a maximum range of up to 460km on a single charge.
Battery Expectations for India
For the Indian market, it is anticipated that the Windsor EV will come with a battery pack capable of delivering around 400km per charge. This estimation aligns with local driving conditions and consumer expectations.
The inclusion of these advanced features positions the Windsor EV as a competitive option in India's growing electric vehicle market. The official specifications and additional details will be revealed during tomorrow's launch event.
