MG Motor India Launches Hector Snowstorm & Astor Blackstorm Special Editions
JSW MG Motor India has introduced two new special edition SUVs to its lineup, the Hector Snowstorm and the Astor Blackstorm. These vehicles come with aesthetic enhancements to both their interiors and exteriors compared to their standard counterparts, while their mechanical configurations remain the same.
The Hector Snowstorm, priced from Rs 21.53 lakh (ex-showroom), offers options with both petrol and diesel engines, whereas the Astor Blackstorm, starting at Rs 13.45 lakh (ex-showroom), is available with a naturally aspirated petrol engine only.
The Hector Snowstorm Edition, available in different configurations including 5-, 6-, and 7-seater options, sticks with the familiar powertrain choices. It features a 143hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a CVT gearbox, and a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine coupled with a manual gearbox.
The petrol-manual setup, however, is not offered in this edition. The Hector Snowstorm's exterior is characterized by a dual-tone white and black paint scheme, complemented by dark chrome finishes on various elements such as the grille, new bumper trims, tail-gate garnish, and side body moulding. Additional highlights include gloss-black roof rails, headlamp bezels, smoked-out tail-lamps, and dark chrome MG logos.
Inside, the Hector Snowstorm boasts a black interior with gun-metal finishes on the centre console, door handles, AC vents, and steering wheel. The seat headrests carry the 'Snowstorm’ branding. Despite these cosmetic updates, the equipment list remains identical to the Sharp Pro trim it's based on.
MG also offers an optional accessory package for the Hector Snowstorm, adding red accents to the fog-lamp surround, wing mirror caps, and tailgate garnish for those seeking an extra touch of personalization.
MG Astor Blackstorm Edition Prices
- Blackstorm petrol-MT: Rs 13.45 lakh
- Blackstorm petrol-CVT: Rs 14.46 lakh
This edition is notable for its all-black exterior, including gloss-black door handles and side cladding. The Blackstorm logos adorn the front fenders, and the vehicle features red brake callipers and smoked-out headlamps for added flair. The alloy wheels are finished in gloss-black, enhancing the SUV’s overall aggressive look.
The cabin of the Astor Blackstorm mirrors the vehicle's exterior sophistication, with Tuxedo Black upholstery accented by red stitching and 'Blackstorm’ embroidery on the front seat headrests. The red theme continues with accents on the AC vents and red stitching on the steering wheel and door trims.
Even with these updates, the standard equipment from the Select trim is carried over, with the addition of new JBL speakers available as an accessory fitment. Powering the Astor Blackstorm is a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine, generating 110hp and 144Nm of torque, and it can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox.
These special editions, the Hector Snowstorm and the Astor Blackstorm, offer MG enthusiasts unique, stylish options that stand out from the regular models, blending aesthetic upgrades with the same reliable performance that the brand is known for.
