MG Cloud EV: A Sneak Peek At Its Futuristic Interior And Features
New spy images of the MG Cloud EV have surfaced, revealing its interior features. The India-spec model will include a free-standing touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. MG Motor India has also released a teaser showing the sunroof and front-end design. The Cloud's price is expected to be announced during this year's festive season.
The teaser indicates that the MG Cloud will feature slim all-LED headlights and an LED light bar above the grille, connecting the headlight units. Additionally, the MG logo appears to be illuminated. The crossover will also come with a sunroof, enhancing its appeal.

MG Cloud Interior Features
Although much of the dashboard in the spied model is covered, some details are visible. The India-spec Cloud EV will likely have a fully digital instrument cluster and a large floating infotainment touchscreen, similar to the Indonesian model sold under the Wuling brand.
The dashboard features horizontal slats covering all four AC vents and a two-spoke steering wheel with infotainment controls.
The Cloud's minimalist dashboard design includes horizontal creases over the AC vents. This setup provides a clean and modern look, aligning with current automotive trends. The interior packaging benefits typical of electric vehicles should make this 5-seater spacious and comfortable.
MG Cloud Exterior Design
Previous spy shots show that the MG Cloud EV's silhouette is a blend of an MPV and a hatchback, though MG Motor India refers to it as a CUV (crossover utility vehicle). The exterior design is minimalist, featuring flush door handles, clean surfaces, and full-width LED light bars at both the front and rear. The vehicle also has sharply raked front and rear windscreens.

The crossover's exterior includes large glasshouse sections and extended quarter glass areas. These design elements contribute to a sleek appearance while maintaining practicality for passengers inside.
Battery Options and Range
The battery specifications for the Indian market are not yet disclosed. However, internationally, the MG Cloud offers two battery pack options: a 37.9kWh pack providing 360km of range and a 50.6kWh unit offering up to 460km. Both battery options power a 134hp electric motor mounted on the front axle.
This range flexibility allows potential buyers to choose based on their driving needs, whether they require a longer range or prefer a more affordable option with an adequate range for daily commutes.
Pricing and Competition
MG Motor India aims for a sub-Rs 20 lakh price tag for the Cloud EV when it launches this festive season. This pricing strategy positions it between the Comet at one end and the ZS EV at the other. It will compete against electric compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
To achieve this competitive pricing, extensive localisation efforts are essential, including sourcing local battery packs. This approach helps reduce costs while supporting local manufacturing initiatives.
The international version of the Cloud also features fully reclinable front seats for 'sofa mode,' circular door-mounted speakers, a 360-degree camera, and an ADAS suite. Whether these features will be included in the Indian variant remains uncertain.
"We have 5 new cars approved for launch by next year," said MG India MD in an earlier statement. This indicates MG Motor India's commitment to expanding its lineup in India with innovative models like the Cloud EV.
