2024 Mercedes GLA Facelift Launched In India - Prices Start At Rs 50.50 Lakh
German luxury carmaker Mercedes has launched the facelifted GLA SUV in India. Prices for the 2024 Mercedes GLA facelift start at Rs 50.50 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The facelifted Mercedes GLA SUV for 2024 is offered in three variant levels for the Indian market. The base GLA 200 is priced at Rs 50.50 lakh, the GLA 220d is priced at Rs 54.75 lakh and the GLA 220d 4Matic is priced at Rs 56.90 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
The new facelifted GLA SUV sports quite a few design tweaks in the form of revised headlights which sport a new design for the integrated LED DRLs along with new internal bits. Also updated are the LED taillights while the cladding for the bumpers and wheel arches are finished in body colour. There is also a new Spectral Blue paint scheme on offer to customers.
The changes on the inside are minimal as well with the AMG line model sporting a new flat-bottom steering wheel with capacitive controls and faux carbon-fibre trim on the dashboard. The switchgear has been revised as well.
The twin 10.25-inch displays feature updated MBUX software which allows for Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the infotainment screen along with new themes for the digital dials including an off-road theme for the all-wheel drive models. The new GLA also features a 360-degree camera, which should make parking easier.
Other features of the 2024 Mercedes GLA's cabin include dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, a large sunroof, ambient lighting with 64 colour options and a wireless charger.
Mechanically, the Mercedes GLA SUV remains unchanged. The GLA 200 continues to use a 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that pushes out 161bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. The GLA 220 uses a 7-speed DCT gearbox that sends power to the front wheels.
The diesel variants of the GLA continue to make use of a 2.0-litre turbo four-pot that produces 188bhp and 400Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed DCT gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
Thoughts About The Facelifted Mercedes GLA
The facelifted Mercedes GLA SUV brings with it a load of small changes that help differentiate it from its predecessor. However, the lack of the Merceds-AMG GLA35 model does seem like a bit of a letdown.
