Mercedes-Benz To Introduce AMG GLC 43 Coupe And CLE Cabriolet
Mercedes-Benz is set to launch two new vehicles in India on August 8th, 2024. The AMG GLC 43 Coupe and CLE Cabriolet will be introduced as premium offerings, imported via the CBU route. These launches aim to expand Mercedes-Benz's portfolio in the Asian subcontinent.
Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet
The CLE Cabriolet will be Mercedes' third convertible in India, joining the AMG E 53 Cabriolet and AMG SL 55 Roadster. This model is based on the CLE Coupe and shares its MRA platform with the C-Class and E-Class. It features stylish exteriors inspired by the E-Class and interiors shared with the C-Class.

The CLE Cabriolet includes a portrait-style 11.9-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and the latest MBUX system. It also boasts premium finishes and a 2+2 seating layout. While powertrain details for the India-spec model are not yet confirmed, it is expected to offer high performance.
AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe
The AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe will be India's most performance-oriented version of the GLC SUV. Sporting an AMG grille, sportier front and rear bumpers, and 21-inch wheels, this model stands out with its aggressive design. It also features AMG-specific side skirts, a large diffuser, and quad exhausts.

Inside, the AMG treatment continues with a unique steering wheel, sporty seats, and special AMG graphics in the instrumentation. The main change in this new model is its engine; it replaces the previous 3.0L V6 petrol engine with a 4-cyl 2.0L petrol engine featuring mild hybrid technology.
This new engine delivers impressive performance with 421 bhp peak power and 500 Nm peak torque. Coupled with a 9-speed gearbox and a 4Matic AWD system, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. Additional features include rear-wheel steering, active suspension, variable steering feel, and high-performance brakes.
Mercedes-Benz has seen significant success with its top-end vehicles (TEVs) in India, which account for over 25% of its total sales in the region. This positive reception has encouraged them to introduce these new models to strengthen their market presence further.
The upcoming AMG GLC 43 Coupe will compete with models like the the BMW X4 M40i Coupe SUV, launched in May 2023. With these new additions, Mercedes-Benz aims to cater to the growing demand for luxury vehicles in India.

As Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its offerings in India, these new models are expected to attract considerable interest from luxury car enthusiasts. The company's strategy of introducing high-performance vehicles aligns well with its recent sales success.
With both models set for an August launch, Indian consumers can look forward to experiencing these premium vehicles soon. The introduction of these models underscores Mercedes-Benz's commitment to providing diverse options for luxury car buyers in India.
