Mercedes-Benz Introduces RIDEVU App For Enhanced In-Car Entertainment Experience With Sony Pictures
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the RIDEVU app from Sony Pictures Entertainment, enhancing its in-car entertainment options. This app uses the MBUX infotainment system to provide a high-quality entertainment experience. It allows streaming on up to six screens simultaneously, including in-car displays and mobile devices, from a single account.
Customers with vehicles equipped with the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus and an active Mercedes-Benz connect subscription can now create a RIDEVU account through the in-car app. Once set up, users can access a wide variety of content across multiple genres, regularly updated. They can also rent or purchase from an extensive movie catalog, including recent releases.

The RIDEVU service offers Mercedes-Benz customers access to blockbuster movies and additional content like behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. The streaming package includes a broad selection of films, with new titles added regularly. Customers can rent or buy movies from the vast catalog of feature films available in HD for crystal-clear viewing on all integrated screens.
The RIDEVU app is accessible on all multimedia screens within the vehicle, each capable of streaming content independently. Its intuitive interface simplifies browsing and watching movies. Future updates will introduce a screen manager for content sharing and synchronization across different screens. Additionally, users can access content via mobile devices both inside and outside the vehicle.
For safety reasons, drivers can only fully access the app via the central display when parked. Each device needs an internet connection, the latest app version, and the same RIDEVU account for use. The service is available for specific models like MY24+ S-Class and MY24+ Maybach S-Class.
Enhanced Viewing Experience
The RIDEVU companion mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices, enabling users to cast to a TV or download content for offline viewing. Customers with second-generation MBUX infotainment systems and the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus will find the RIDEVU app in their menu. Activating "Video Streaming" in the Mercedes-Benz app is necessary to use this service.
Magnus Östberg, Chief Software Officer at Mercedes-Benz AG, stated: "We are excited to collaborate with Sony Pictures Entertainment to offer our customers this first-of-its-kind user experience. Because RIDEVU is developed specifically for in-car entertainment, it takes movie watching in a Mercedes-Benz to a new level of convenience and simplicity."
Setting Up Your Account
To start using RIDEVU, customers click on its icon on the main screen and follow simple steps to set up a free account—only one account per vehicle is needed. This setup grants access to movies included in the app.
