Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV India Launch Tomorrow: Exterior, Interior, Powertrain & More
The EQS SUV is set to debut in India on September 16, following the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV. This will be Mercedes' 6th electric vehicle in its lineup, positioned between the EQE and Maybach EQS SUVs. The new model is expected to offer an optional 7-seater configuration, though space might be tight for adults in the third row.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Exterior
Compared to the Maybach EQS, the regular EQS SUV features less chrome and lacks the dual-tone paint scheme and deep-dish alloy wheels. However, it may come with the AMG Line package, which includes sportier front and rear bumpers. The exterior design follows the smooth-surfaced aesthetic typical of all EQ models, featuring a blanked-off black panel grille, angular LED headlights, and a horizontal LED light bar.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Interior Features
The interior of the EQS SUV boasts a Hyperscreen setup as standard in the 580 4Matic spec. This includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch central infotainment screen, and a 12.3-inch front passenger screen all integrated into one expansive surface. Additionally, there is an optional head-up display with augmented reality navigation.

In terms of dimensions, the EQS SUV measures 5,125mm in length, 1,959mm in width, and 1,718mm in height. It is slightly shorter by 82mm but marginally wider by 3mm compared to the Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV. The height is also reduced by 105mm.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Powertrain and Performance
The EQS SUV is powered by a 118kWh lithium-ion battery pack. In its 580 4Matic variant, it features dual electric motors on each axle for all-wheel drive capability. This setup delivers a combined output of 544hp and 858Nm of peak torque. Mercedes claims that this allows for a sprint from 0-100kph in just 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 210kph.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Range & Charging
The vehicle offers an impressive range of up to 643km on a single charge in the 580 4Matic spec. Charging options include a fast 200kW DC charger that can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 31 minutes. Alternatively, using a standard 7.4kW AC charger will take approximately 18.5 hours to fully charge from zero to one hundred percent.
