Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce its entry-level EQA electric SUV in India on 8 July, 2024. This launch marks the first of three planned product releases by the luxury automaker in the country. The EQA features a design similar to its larger counterparts in the Mercedes-Benz lineup and offers more than 500km of driving range.
Exterior
The EQA's exterior includes a black panel surface with a star pattern, high-performance LED headlights with adaptive high beam assist, and a light band connecting the DRLs of the headlamps. The AMG Line exterior package adds body-coloured wheel arch cladding and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Interior
Inside, the AMG Line trim equips the vehicle with sports seats, 'AMG' floor mats, aluminium trim, door sills illuminated with 'EQA' lettering, galvanised paddle shifters, and unique rubber-studded pedals.
Additional features include a seat comfort package, heated front seats, multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and a parking package with a reverse camera.

Powertrain Options
Globally, the Mercedes-Benz EQA is available in three trims offering up to 560km (WLTP-claimed) of range on a single charge. The EQA 300 4MATIC and EQA 350 4MATIC versions feature dual-motor setups producing 227bhp and 291bhp respectively. The base trim EQA 250 generates 188bhp and uses a front-wheel drive system.
Although unconfirmed, Mercedes-Benz may introduce the range-topping variants in India. The EQA's battery pack has a capacity of 66.5kWh and supports up to 100kW DC on-board charging, allowing for a 10 to 80 per cent top-up in just 40 minutes.
Launch Timeline and Competitors
The Mercedes-Benz EQA is anticipated to be priced around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Upon launch, it will compete with vehicles such as the BMW iX1, Kia EV6, and Volvo XC40 Recharge in the Indian market.
