Mercedes-Benz Launches 'Dreamer – A DRIVE PILOT Story' Campaign Highlighting Automated Driving Innovations
Mercedes-Benz has a longstanding history of innovation, dating back 138 years to the invention of the automobile. The latest development in this legacy is the introduction of automated driving systems, which are redefining the role of vehicles. Currently, these systems are enhancing comfort and convenience for drivers.
DRIVE PILOT is the first system for series-production vehicles that allows drivers to engage in certain secondary activities safely and legally while in slow-moving traffic on suitable freeways. Certified for sale in California and Nevada, DRIVE PILOT is available in the S-Class and EQS Sedan models. This system represents conditionally automated driving according to SAE Level 3 standards.
The new campaign film, "Dreamer – a DRIVE PILOT Story," narrates a journey through time with emotional snapshots. It follows the protagonist from childhood to adulthood, with Mercedes-Benz as a constant presence. DRIVE PILOT is the world's first SAE Level 3 system for highly automated driving with internationally valid system approval. Since late 2023, it has been certified for sale in Nevada and California.
