Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance: Top 5 Things You Need To Know
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance has been introduced in India, priced at Rs 1.95 crore (ex-showroom). This marks the third plug-in hybrid from AMG in the country, following the S 63 E Performance and GT 63 S E Performance. Bookings are now open, with deliveries anticipated to start in April 2025.
Powertrain
Replacing the previous V8 engine, the C 63 S E Performance features a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 476hp and 545Nm of torque. This is paired with a rear axle-mounted electric motor delivering an additional 204hp and 320Nm. The combined output reaches an impressive 680hp and a massive 1,020Nm of torque.

Performance
The power is distributed to all four wheels via the 4Matic+ system, which includes a drift mode. The car accelerates from 0-100kph in just 3.4 seconds. The AMG Driver's Package is standard, allowing a top speed of 280kph. A Formula One-inspired turbocharger enhances performance by using an electric motor to spool the turbine faster.
Hybrid System & Other Performance Enhancing Tech
The plug-in hybrid sedan comes equipped with a 6.1kWh battery pack weighing 89kg, providing an electric-only range of up to 13km. Standard features include four-wheel steering, enabling rear wheels to turn up to 2.5 degrees in the opposite direction at speeds up to 100kph and up to 0.7 degrees in the same direction at higher speeds.
Interior and Exterior Highlights
Compared to the regular C-Class, this AMG model boasts a vertically slatted grille with active shutters for optimal engine cooling. The redesigned front and rear bumpers add length, while wider front wheel arches increase width by 76mm over the standard sedan. Lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels come as standard.
Inside, it shares its layout with the standard model but features an all-black theme and AMG-specific steering wheel. Standard equipment includes ventilated sports seats in nappa leather, carbon fibre interior trim, a head-up display, and a Burmester sound system with 15 speakers delivering 710W of power.
Driving Modes and Safety
The C 63 S E Performance offers eight driving modes: Electric, Comfort, Battery Hold, Sport, Sport+, RACE, Slippery and Individual. It also includes three levels for adaptive damping: Comfort, Sport and Sport+. Safety features include seven airbags and a comprehensive suite of ADAS technologies alongside a standard-fitment of a 360-degree camera.
Mercedes-AMG provides buyers with an exclusive opportunity to experience racing at Nürburgring as part of their purchase package. Additionally, there are numerous customisation options available for personalising both exterior paint finishes like Matt Graphite Grey Magno and interior elements such as optional ceramic high-performance composite brakes.
