Mecum Auctions To Showcase Over 1,200 Classic Cars In Harrisburg This July
The Mecum Harrisburg collector car auction, set for July 24-27, 2024, will feature around 1,200 vehicles. This event, held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex since 2014, attracts consignors, bidders, and spectators nationwide. Live broadcasts will air on MotorTrendTV and MAX.
A highlight this year is the 1953 Chevrolet Corvette Kindig-It CF1 Roadster (Lot S113), known as "Caduceus." Built by Kindig It Designs as No. 12 of a limited run, it boasts a Lingenfelter LS V-8 engine and a custom carbon fiber body. Another notable vehicle is the 1962 Ghia L 6.4 (Lot S154), one of only 26 produced in Turin, Italy.
The Great Lakes Collection offers a variety of classic cars, including a 1957 Ford Thunderbird E-Code Convertible (Lot S142) and a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop (Lot S138). Modern car enthusiasts can look forward to vehicles like the 1998 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible (Lot F104) and the 2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV (Lot S135).
The Holden Grace Collection features a frame-off restored 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L89 Convertible (Lot S76), one of just 624 built that year with L89 aluminum cylinder heads. The James T. Lynch Collection includes six Ford Mustangs, such as a 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible (Lot S82) and three 1966 Ford Mustang Fastbacks (Lots S85, S86 & S88).
The Rusted Restoration Collection includes seven vehicles and 13 pieces of Road Art. A standout item is the Hershey’s Ice Cream Double-Sided Embossed Porcelain Sign (Lot Z442). The Jaime Delapaz Collection offers 14 lots with ten available at no reserve.
Charity Auction
A special auction item is a 1956 Bentley S1 (Lot W62), donated to the Rolls-Royce Foundation. This vehicle will be sold without reserve on Wednesday, July 24, with proceeds benefiting the foundation.
