McLaren Enters Electric Bike Arena With High-Performance Hyperbikes
McLaren Automotive has unveiled its debut range of electric bikes, extending the company's high-performance design and technology into the two-wheeled world. The new limited-edition range includes four models: Extreme 600, Extreme 250, Sport 600, and Sport 250. These e-bikes embody the defining qualities of McLaren’s iconic supercars, featuring hand-laid carbon-fibre frames and five power settings: Off, Eco, Trail, Sport, and Race.
Designed by McLaren’s supercar designers, the e-bikes incorporate signature McLaren attributes such as carbon-fibre construction and next-generation electrification. The powerful motor enhances the high power-to-weight ratio, a pivotal attribute mirrored in every McLaren supercar. The e-bikes’ torque figures surpass the standard of other premium e-bikes, ensuring class-leading performance.
The McLaren design team has devised an innovative digital display whose graphics mimic those of the cars’ driver displays. Telemetry information including speed, battery life, and range is shown on a full-colour integrated LCD panel on the handlebars. This ensures maximum rider engagement and user-friendliness.
Model Specifications
The flagship McLaren 600 versions are among the most powerful street-legal electric mountain bikes, with Race mode delivering up to 852W of peak power and a top speed of 20mph/32kph. Two electric mountain bike models are available in limited numbers: a 29" hardtail version and a full-suspension version with a 29" front wheel, 27.5" rear wheel, 145mm of rear travel, and 160mm of fork travel.

McLaren Sport and Extreme Models
The McLaren Sport is an all-purpose mountain bike suitable for both off-road tracks and aggressive single tracks. It features integrated componentry and a minimalist frame design for pure McLaren style. The Extreme model is a full-suspension electric mountain bike designed for maximum off-road performance, control, and comfort.
Power Modes
The e-bikes offer five power modes selectable via the digital display on the integrated cockpit:
- Off: No motor assist.
- Eco: Energy conservation for long rides.
- Trail: A balanced mix of power and efficiency.
- Sport: Extra power output for demanding trails.
- Race: Maximum power and torque.
Tire Specifications and Availability
