Mazda Celebrates Opening Of 300th Retail Evolution Dealership To Boost Customer Experience
Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) celebrated a significant milestone with the opening of its 300th Retail Evolution (RE) dealership at Luther Mazda in Kansas City, Mo. This achievement underscores Mazda's commitment to enhancing the customer experience through its Retail Evolution program, which has been reshaping the landscape of automotive retail since its inception in 2014.
The Retail Evolution initiative is designed to modernize the car buying and servicing experience, featuring upscale, open-concept floor plans that foster a higher level of business transparency and customer satisfaction. Tim Manning, senior VP of retail operations at MNAO, highlighted the program's success, noting a notable increase in dealer owner loyalty and service retention rates since the program's launch.

David Luther, dealer principal of Luther Automotive, expressed his confidence in the future of Mazda and the Retail Evolution program. He emphasized the importance of adapting to market demands by providing a more transparent, open, and modern environment for customers.
With 70 percent of Mazda dealers either having transitioned to or committed to adopting the Retail Evolution standards, these dealerships now account for 87 percent of Mazda's total retail sales. The impact of the Retail Evolution design is evident in performance metrics, with upgraded dealerships experiencing a significant boost in monthly throughput.
Over the past decade, more than 380 Mazda dealers have committed to upgrading their facilities under the Retail Evolution program. This initiative is a key component of Mazda's long-term strategy in the U.S. market, aiming to offer a consistent and elevated experience from showroom visit to vehicle service.
