The third edition of Homo Faber will be directed by Italian film director Luca Guadagnino and architect Nicolò Rosmarini. They will guide visitors through significant moments in human life, from birth to the afterlife, all viewed through the lens of craft. The event will feature hundreds of handcrafted objects created by skilled artisans using various techniques.

Mazda’s participation aligns with its century-long tradition of refining and mastering Japanese craftsmanship. The brand’s ‘Kodo-Soul of Motion’ design philosophy infuses life and personality into its cars, starting from abstract handcrafted sculptures that capture the emotion of future vehicles.

Mazda’s designers and engineers are inspired by Monozukuri, the art of making things that combine efficiency with creative innovation, and Kaizen, the aim to improve continuously. This philosophy is evident in their multi-award-winning designs and their commitment to crafting rather than merely manufacturing cars.

Katarina Loksa, Head of Brand at Mazda Motor Europe, stated: "At the core of Mazda's approach to designing and manufacturing our products is a high level of attention to detail and a passion for perfecting every step of the process. Sharing the ethos of craftsmanship with the Michelangelo Foundation, Mazda is proud to join Homo Faber 2024."

Workshops and Interactive Experiences

Visitors to Homo Faber 2024 can look forward to participatory workshops supported by Mazda. These workshops will allow attendees to engage in crafts such as bookbinding and papermaking. Alberto Cavalli, Executive Director of the Michelangelo Foundation, highlighted Mazda’s contribution: "Mazda’s Japanese approach to design and craftsmanship witnesses a sense of authentic connection with the values of originality, creativity, and respect for artisanal talent that Homo Faber champions."

The event promises a unique opportunity for visitors to experience Mazda’s Takumi journey—a crafting experience related to travel and exploration. For more information about Mazda at Homo Faber 2024 and details on curated exhibitions and workshops, visit [Link].
