Vandoorne And Hughes To Power Maserati MSG Racing In Formula E's Season 11
Maserati MSG Racing is thrilled to announce the addition of Stoffel Vandoorne and Jake Hughes for the 2024/25 Formula E season. Stoffel, a former World Champion, will embark on his seventh year in the electric series, while Jake enters his third season after an impressive debut with McLaren. Together, they aim to form a formidable team as they prepare for the debut of the Gen3 Evo racing car.
Stoffel Vandoorne has been a standout competitor since joining Formula E in 2018. With three victories, 16 podiums, and eight pole positions, he clinched the World Championship title in the 2021/22 season with Mercedes-EQ. His experience and skill will be crucial for Maserati MSG Racing's development in the upcoming season.

Jake Hughes made a significant impact during his rookie season with McLaren in Season 9. He secured pole position in just his third race and has since achieved four poles and a podium finish in the 2024 Shanghai E-Prix. Having served as Maserati MSG Racing’s Reserve Driver in Season 7, Jake is well-acquainted with the team and is eager to return.
The duo will make their first appearance together at Pre-Season testing at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia from 4-7 November 2024. The season opener will take place on 7 December 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil, marking the start of a record-breaking campaign featuring 17 races.
José M Aznar, Team Principal & Managing Partner of Maserati MSG Racing, expressed his enthusiasm about welcoming Stoffel and Jake. He highlighted Stoffel's speed and experience as vital for future growth and praised Jake's commitment and hunger to drive the team forward. "With their combined talents, we’re confident we’ll have one of the strongest lineups on the grid," he said.
Giovanni Tommaso Sgro, Head of Maserati Corse, also shared his excitement about the new drivers. "We’re happy to welcome Stoffel Vandoorne and Jake Hughes to the Maserati family from Formula E Season 11 onwards," he stated. Max's victories in Jakarta and Tokyo were particularly memorable, marking significant moments in Maserati’s modern history on track. The team wishes them all the best in their future endeavours.
