Maserati MSG Racing Launches Season 11 Tipo Folgore Livery At Pre-Season Testing In Madrid

Maserati MSG Racing has unveiled its new competitor for Season 11 of the FIA Formula E World Championship, the Maserati Tipo Folgore. This electric single-seater is being tested at the Circuito de Jarama in Madrid from November 5 to 8. The testing was moved to Madrid due to severe floods in Valencia. Maserati extends its condolences to those affected by this disaster.

The Maserati Tipo Folgore showcases a refreshed design with improved aerodynamics and aesthetics that celebrate 110 years of Maserati's racing achievements. The name reflects Maserati's full-electric range, bridging past, present, and future. Its livery features iconic Maserati Blue with Rose Gold accents, symbolising innovation and electrification.

Klaus Busse, Head of Design at Maserati, expressed pride in working on the car's livery for the third year. He stated: "It has been a great honor to work for the third year running on the livery design of our Formula E single-seater." The design celebrates Maserati's rich motorsport history, highlighting significant victories and legendary drivers.

The GEN3 Evo package equips the Tipo Folgore with unmatched speed and efficiency in Formula E. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.82 seconds (0 to 100 km/h in 1.86 seconds). Regenerative braking provides 600 kW capacity, allowing half of race energy to come from regeneration.

During pre-season testing in Madrid, new drivers Stoffel Vandoorne and Jake Hughes join Maserati MSG Racing. Tatiana Calderon and Carrie Schreiner will participate in an all-women rookie test session on November 8. These sessions mark the start of Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The upcoming season will feature 16 races worldwide, starting in São Paulo, Brazil on December 7, 2024. Cyril Blais, Team Principal at Maserati MSG Racing, remarked on their responsibility representing such an iconic brand: "It continues to be an enormous honor for us to represent such an iconic automotive brand in Formula E."

Maserati's Commitment to Electrification

Maserati S.p.A produces a range of unique cars known for their style and technology. Their models include Quattroporte, Ghibli, Levante, Grecale SUVs, and MC20 sports cars. By 2025, all models will have full-electric versions; by 2030, they will be entirely electric.

The MC20 super sports car features the Nettuno V6 engine with F1-derived technologies. The GranTurismo offers both a V6 petrol engine and a fully electric version called GranTurismo Folgore—the first electric model in Maserati's history.

Maserati MSG Racing's Legacy

Maserati MSG Racing is one of the founding teams of FIA Formula E World Championship since December 2013. Based in Monaco under Chairman Scott Swid’s leadership, it promotes sustainability through equity and diversity principles while achieving technical excellence.

In recent years, MSG Racing has grown significantly within Formula E. In 2021 they nearly secured a win before finishing second globally in their most successful season yet in 2022.

As Season 11 approaches with new drivers joining pre-season testing sessions across Spain this week—Maseratis’ commitment towards electrification remains steadfast as they continue pushing boundaries within motorsport innovation worldwide.
