Maserati Unveils MC20 Series And Celebrates MC12 At Goodwood 2024
The 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed will feature Maserati's tribute to the MC20, showcasing two special series: the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda. These models celebrate Maserati's return to racing 20 years ago with the MC12. Both cars are limited to 20 units each and boast unique liveries inspired by the MC12 Stradale and MC12 GT1 Vitaphone.
From 11 to 14 July, Maserati will present these special editions at Goodwood, a renowned motorsport event in West Sussex, England. The festival annually gathers legendary drivers, teams, and iconic vehicles from both past and present. The MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda will be displayed in the Supercar Paddock alongside other notable Maserati models.
The MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda feature exclusive designs from Maserati's Fuoriserie personalisation programme. These bespoke liveries and interiors offer a refined experience for enthusiasts. The cars pay homage to the victorious MC12, marking two decades since Maserati's return to competitive racing after a 37-year hiatus.
In addition to these special series, Maserati will also showcase the legendary MC12 Versione Corse. Developed in 2006 for non-competitive track use, this model features a powerful 755-hp V12 engine. Only 12 customer units and one prototype were produced, making it a rare gem in motorsport history.
Another highlight at Goodwood will be the exclusive MC20 Cielo in Blu Victory. This convertible features a retractable glass roof and distinctive white Trident on its tonneau cover. Its metallic colour echoes the nuance of the MC12 from two decades ago, adding a touch of nostalgia to its modern design.
The festival's Hillclimb event will see the MC20 Icona, MC20 Leggenda, and MC20 Cielo showcasing their power and appeal. This event is a highlight where classic and modern racing cars ascend the famous 1.16-mile hill, providing an unparalleled spectacle for attendees.
