Swift 2024 Face-off: Comparing Indian & Australian Variants
The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift launched in India in May 2024. It boasts many features but lacks the hybrid powertrain and all-wheel-drive (AWD setup found in international versions. Recently, the Swift was introduced in Australia with a 1.2-litre, 12V hybrid powertrain missing in the Indian model.

The India-specific model does not offer the all-black paint scheme found in the Australian version. The Australian model also features 16-inch alloy wheels for top variants and 15-inch for lower ones. The Indian model, however, only has 15-inch wheels even for top variants. Additionally, the Australian version has rear fog lights, whereas the Indian version has front fog lights.
Interior & Features
The Indian Maruti Swift includes a wireless phone charger, a 9-inch touchscreen, and six airbags as standard. The Australian counterpart adds heated front seats and outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs). Inside, the Australian model features dual-tone black and white interiors. In contrast, the Indian model offers an all-black interior with silver accents.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
The Australian Suzuki Swift Hybrid includes a radar-based ADAS suite. This suite offers collision mitigation, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. These features are absent from the Indian Maruti Swift.

The Australian Swift Hybrid features a mild hybrid engine with similar power output as the Indian model. However, it includes a CVT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The Indian model uses an AMT gearbox and lacks paddle shifters.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift in India is more affordable compared to the Australian version, however, the Australian version comes with a lot more features. In India, it competes with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Renault Triber crossover MPV, Hyundai Exter, and Tata Punch micro SUVs.
