Maruti Suzuki Manesar Plant Gets New Assembly Line – Production Capacity Increased To 9 Lakh Units
Maruti Suzuki, India's leading passenger vehicle manufacturer, with a substantial market share of 41.7 per cent, has taken significant steps to meet the surging customer demand. The company has unveiled a new vehicle assembly line at its Manesar plant in Haryana.
As such, the new assembly line promises to bolster the production capabilities of the automaker. In fact, the latest addition is set to produce 1 lakh units annually, raising the plant's total manufacturing capacity to an impressive 9 lakh units per year.

Since its inception in February 2007, the Manesar Plant has been instrumental in Maruti Suzuki's success story, achieving several key milestones. From rolling out its first 1 lakh units within mere months of operation to reaching the 95 lakh unit milestone by February 2024, the plant's growth trajectory is noteworthy.
The models produced here include the Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, WagonR, DZire, S-Presso, Ciaz, and Celerio. All of these listed models have significantly contributed to the brand's dominance in the Indian automobile market.

Mr Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed the company's commitment to the "Make in India" initiative. He highlighted the plan to nearly double the production capacity to 4 million vehicles per annum within the next 7-8 years.
He also added that the new assembly line, equipped with technologies aimed at enhancing human ergonomics, productivity, and traceability, marks a critical step towards the automaker's ambitious goal.

The Maruti Ertiga had the honour of being the first car to roll off this new line. With three plants already operational at Manesar and another production unit in Hansalpur, Gujarat, the company is on a clear path to expand its manufacturing prowess.
This expansion is not just about meeting current demand but is a strategic move to secure Maruti Suzuki's future in a competitive market. Also, Maruti Suzuki's achievement of selling around 1.50 lakh units per month, with many models featured in the top 10 lists, underscores the brand's popularity.
The company's strategic production planning ensures that waiting periods for its vehicles, including the highly sought-after Ertiga and Brezza, remain within a reasonable 8-10 weeks. This efficiency is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty in the fast-paced automobile sector.
