Maruti Suzuki Elevates Safety Quotient: Fronx Now Gets 6 Airbags In More Variants
Maruti Suzuki, is stepping up its game in vehicle safety by enhancing the safety features across its range. In a recent move, the company announced that its popular model, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, will now feature 6 airbags in two additional variants.
Enhanced Safety In Fronx Variants
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has been doing exceptionally well in the Indian automobile market. Initially available in five trims, the introduction of 6 airbags in the Delta Plus (O) MT and Delta Plus (O) AGS variants signifies Maruti Suzuki's commitment to passenger safety.

Previously, only the higher Zeta and Alpha trims of the Fronx came equipped with 6 airbags, leaving the base and mid-level trims with the government-mandated two airbags. The new Delta Plus (O) variants break this pattern by offering comprehensive airbag protection, which includes driver, front passenger, curtain, and side airbags.
Pricing & Specifications
The pricing for these newly equipped variants is competitively set, with the Delta Plus (O) MT variant priced at Rs. 8.93 lakh and the Delta Plus (O) AGS variant at Rs. 9.43 lakh, both prices ex-showroom.

The addition of 6 airbags comes with a modest price increase of Rs. 15,500 over the standard Delta Plus trims. Additionally, these variants feature a tyre puncture repair kit instead of a spare wheel, adhering to the trend of maximizing space and efficiency.
Under the bonnet, the new Delta Plus (O) variants are powered by a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, available with both manual and AGS gearbox options. It's important to note that while the Delta Plus trim also offers a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Turbo petrol engine. However, this variant does not come with 6 airbags.

Maruti Suzuki's Safety Commitment
Maruti Suzuki's endeavour to improve crash safety in its vehicles is evident in its internal testing and will be further validated by the forthcoming Bharat NCAP crash tests. Although the inclusion of 6 airbags as a standard feature across all Fronx variants has not been realized, this step reflects a significant improvement in Maruti Suzuki's safety offerings.

This move comes shortly after the launch of the new Swift, which features 6 airbags across all its variants, indicating a broader shift towards enhanced safety in Maruti Suzuki's lineup.
DriveSpark Thinks
As the Fronx positions itself above the Swift and Baleno in Maruti Suzuki's portfolio, these safety updates not only elevate its market standing but also reaffirm the brand's dedication to passenger safety. With these updates, Maruti Suzuki continues to cater to the evolving safety expectations of Indian car buyers.
