Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hits Over 2,00,000 Sales Globally, Expands Exports

Maruti Suzuki Fronx car has been selling rapidly. Since its launch, over 200,000 units have been sold in both Indian and international markets. Notably, Suzuki is now exporting this vehicle from India to Japan.

Maruti introduced the Suzuki Fronx at the Auto Expo 2023, with sales commencing on 24th April 2023. The car's popularity surged, leading to high sales figures. Within just ten months, over 100,000 units were sold.

Currently, the Fronx is being exported to various regions including Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Recently, it has also started being exported to Japan.

Suzuki, a Japanese company, partnered with Maruti in India to design the Fronx. The car is manufactured in Gujarat, India. Despite being designed by Suzuki, its Indian manufacturing base has raised expectations for its reception in Japan.

In the initial phase, Maruti exported 1,600 Fronx cars from its Gujarat plant to Japan via the Gujarat port. This follows a similar export pattern as seen with the Baleno car in 2016.

If the Fronx gains popularity in Japan, there are significant opportunities for increased exports. The fact that a Japanese company has grown to manufacture and export vehicles from India back to Japan is noteworthy.

Fronx Global Sales Surpass 200 000 Units

India is a major player in passenger vehicle exports, with Maruti being the largest exporter. In the last fiscal year alone, Maruti exported 280,000 cars to over 100 countries.

The company holds a 42% share of total vehicle exports from India. This means nearly half of all exported cars are from Maruti. In the first three months of this fiscal year, Maruti exported 70,560 vehicles.

This quarter saw Maruti exporting more vehicles than ever before. The high demand for Maruti's vehicles internationally is largely due to their simplicity and reliability.

International Demand and Future Prospects

The Fronx's success in countries like India and other international markets is promising for India's automotive industry. If Japanese consumers also embrace this car, it could further boost India's export numbers.

DriveSpark Thinks

While the Maruti Fronx car is well-received in countries like India, it has also been well-received in international markets. This is good news for India. This car is being exported from India to international markets. If the cars manufactured in India are in demand in Japan, then you should see it."
