Maruti Suzuki Ertiga's Sales Surge By 51% In August 2024, Becomes India's Second Best-Selling Car
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has become a favourite among Indian car buyers, thanks to its affordability, excellent fuel efficiency, and family-friendly features. This Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) has seen significant sales growth due to these factors.
Maruti Suzuki's sales report for August 2024 reveals that 18,580 Ertiga units were sold, compared to 12,315 units in August 2023. This marks a 51% increase in sales. Consequently, the Ertiga secured the second spot on the list of top-10 best-selling cars in India for August 2024.
The starting price of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in India is INR 8.69 lakh, with the top variant priced at INR 13.03 lakh. These prices are ex-showroom rates. The car's petrol/manual variants offer a mileage of 20.51 km/l, while the petrol/automatic variants deliver 20.30 km/l. The CNG/manual variants provide an impressive mileage of 26.11 km/kg.
The Ertiga comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety features include airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, and rear parking sensors. The car also offers seven seats, making it ideal for large families.
In August 2024, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza took the top spot in sales with 19,190 units sold, just 610 units more than the Ertiga. Despite this narrow margin, the Ertiga's performance remains impressive.
Maruti Suzuki attributes the Ertiga's popularity to its combination of price, mileage, and features that cater to large families. This blend of attributes has made it a strong contender in the Indian automobile market.
