Maruti Suzuki E Vitara Electric SUV Teaser Out: Unveil At Auto Expo 2025

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to introduce its first electric vehicle (EV) in India, the e Vitara, developed in collaboration with Toyota. The SUV will be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025, also known as Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, on January 17 in New Delhi. The recently released a teaser of the e Vitara ahead of its official unveil.

The e Vitara is a five-seater electric SUV that will compete with models like the Hyundai Creta EV and Mahindra BE 6e. Initially previewed as the eVX concept in Milan, Italy, this model retains much of its concept design but features more rounded edges. It is set for an Indian launch by March 2025 and a European debut by June.

Battery Options and Platform Details

The e Vitara will offer two battery configurations: a 49kWh option for base variants and a 61kWh version for higher trims. The latter is expected to include an all-wheel-drive system known as AllGrip-e by Suzuki. Built on a new skateboard platform co-developed with Toyota, this model shares its foundation with Toyota's Urban Cruiser EV.

Both the Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will be manufactured in India and exported globally. Maruti plans to sell the e Vitara through its Nexa premium outlets. More information regarding bookings, pricing, and delivery schedules will be disclosed closer to its launch date.

Charging Infrastructure Plans

In addition to launching the e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki aims to establish a network of EV charging stations across India. These chargers will be strategically placed at Maruti's sales and service outlets to support their electric vehicle customers effectively.

The production version of the e Vitara closely resembles its concept predecessor but has undergone some design tweaks for practicality. The collaboration between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota signifies a significant step towards expanding their presence in the global EV market while catering to local demands.

As anticipation builds for the Auto Expo 2025 unveiling, Maruti Suzuki's strategic move into electric mobility reflects their commitment to innovation and sustainability. By offering competitive features and infrastructure support, they aim to capture a substantial share of India's growing EV market.
