Maruti Suzuki E Vitara: All Details We Know So Far
Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its inaugural all-electric production-ready model, the e Vitara, at the EICMA in Milan. This marks the brand's first global electric vehicle, with an Indian debut slated for mid-2025. Initially showcased as the eVX concept at Auto Expo 2023, it later appeared at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Now in its final production phase, the SUV is set for a global launch next year.
Exterior Styling
The e Vitara's design is a significant evolution from Maruti's current offerings. It features thick cladding, chunky wheel arches, and a bold front fascia with a robust rear bumper. The headlamps boast Y-shaped LED DRLs within their cluster, accompanied by front parking sensors, a camera, and a radar module. Wheel options include 18-inch and 19-inch sizes in dark finishes.
The charging port is uniquely positioned on the front left fender, extending over the wheel arch. Front door handles are pull-type and located on the doors themselves, while rear door handles are integrated into the C-pillar for a sleek look. At the back, a floating roofline effect is achieved with an extended roof spoiler and side cowls. The connected taillamps enhance its modern aesthetics.
Features & Tech
Inside, the e Vitara impresses with its dashboard design. Screens are housed together with vertical AC vents below them. The dual-tone black and tan brown theme exudes premium appeal. While Suzuki hasn't detailed features yet, it's expected to be their most feature-rich SUV. Highlights include a two-spoke steering wheel, digital instrument panel, automatic climate control, and more.
Technical Specifications
Built on the new HEARTECT-e platform, the e Vitara offers two battery options: 49kWh and 61kWh. The smaller battery supports only 2WD configuration. The larger one offers both 2WD and 4WD with ALLGRIP-e system. Though driving range details remain undisclosed, expectations are high for over 500km on a single charge with the larger battery.

Market Competition and Pricing
The e Vitara faces stiff competition upon its mid-2025 launch. Maruti Suzuki's pricing strategy is crucial; estimates suggest Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh for top AWD variants.
