Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG Vs Aura CNG Vs Tigor CNG: Powertrain, Price & More
Maruti Suzuki has introduced the fourth-generation Dzire in India, now available with a CNG powertrain from the start. This addition places it in competition with the Hyundai Aura CNG and Tata Tigor CNG. Let's explore how the new Maruti Dzire CNG compares to these rivals in terms of specifications, fuel efficiency, features, and pricing.
Powertrain & Specifications
The Dzire CNG is equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine producing 70hp and 102Nm of torque. This makes it slightly more powerful than the Aura's 69hp but less than the Tigor's 73hp. However, the Dzire leads in torque output. Unlike its competitors, it lacks an automatic transmission option for CNG.

In terms of mileage, which is crucial for CNG buyers, the Dzire excels with 33.73km/kg. The Aura follows with 28.4km/kg, while the Tigor offers 26.49km/kg. Despite its efficiency, the Dzire's 55-litre tank is smaller compared to its rivals.

Maruti offers the Dzire CNG in mid-spec VXi and ZXi trims. Hyundai provides CNG options from base to mid-spec trims (E, S, SX) for the Aura. Tata stands out by offering CNG on top-spec XZ+ trim of Tigor along with XM and XZ trims.
Comparing features between Dzire ZXi and Aura SX reveals that Dzire includes LED headlights, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, additional speakers, automatic climate control, wireless charger, connected tech, and six airbags. The Aura boasts a larger touchscreen but fewer airbags.
Other Features
Despite being available in fully-loaded XZ+ form, Tigor lacks several features present even in Dzire's ZXi trim like LED headlights or electric wing mirror adjustment. It does offer an eight-speaker Harman sound system and rain-sensing wipers but only two airbags.
The Tigor also provides hill-start assist along with rear AC vents which are absent in both Aura SX & Dzire ZXi models making it unique among them despite missing some other amenities offered by others at similar price points.
