Maruti Suzuki E Vitara Vs Rivals: Specs, Range, Price & More
Maruti is gearing up to launch its first electric vehicle in India by March 2025. This new entrant, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, will compete with models like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and BYD's Atto 3. The Indian market has shown a growing interest in EVs, as evidenced by a surge in sales in October, surpassing 10,000 units for the first time.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Vs Rivals: Battery and Performance
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is expected to offer two battery options: a 49kWh and a larger 61kWh pack. The latter will be the biggest among its competitors. Maruti claims that the e Vitara can achieve over 500km on global test cycles. In comparison, the BYD Atto 3 offers a range of up to 521km with its top-spec model.

The entry-level e Vitara has lower power output figures compared to others but gains an edge with its dual-motor AWD version. The Atto 3 leads in performance with a single motor producing 204hp and 310Nm torque, achieving a claimed acceleration of 0-100kph in just 7.3 seconds.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Vs Rivals: Dimensions
When it comes to size, the Maruti e Vitara is generally smaller than its competitors except for its wheelbase, which rivals the Atto 3's class-leading figure. Designed as a born-EV, it should make efficient use of space compared to ICE conversions like the ZS EV and Curvv EV. Its long wheelbase is likely to provide more legroom.
The ground clearance of the e Vitara sits in the middle range among its peers. In all-wheel-drive (AWD) form, it becomes the heaviest due to additional components like a rear axle-mounted motor that adds around 200kg.
