Marelli Develops Revolutionary Automotive Lighting Platform In China
Marelli, a renowned automotive supplier, has recently developed an innovative automotive lighting domain control unit platform in China. This platform is designed to manage a vehicle's front lights, rear lights, and introduce new 360° lighting features.
With potential for future integration of additional lighting algorithms, this technology represents a significant advancement in automotive lighting systems for next-generation vehicles. Marelli will showcase this latest technology at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition from April 25 to May 4, along with other advanced technologies.

The importance of automotive lighting control systems in enhancing vehicle safety and improving the driving experience is undeniable. Marelli's new technology caters to both internal combustion engine vehicles and electric vehicles.
With an eye on the evolution of new electronic and electrical architectures, Marelli is pioneering in the advancement of vehicle lighting control system architecture. The company has successfully introduced mass production of its light domain controller in China's electric vehicle market, showcasing a forward-looking approach.
Marelli's "MCU LESS" intelligent driver concept marks a significant step away from traditional, dedicated ECUs towards centralizing the entire lighting software into domain ECUs. This shift supports the automotive industry's move towards software-defined vehicles (SDV), emphasizing the "Software as a Product" (SaaP) concept. This concept not only reinforces the role of software in lighting systems but also supports Over-the-Air (OTA) updates and the continuous deployment of new features after the vehicle's production.
Marelli's Technological Expertise
Boasting over 20 years of expertise in automotive lighting electronics, Marelli offers a wide range of control unit solutions for automotive lighting.
