Mahindra XUV700 Prices Increased Up To Rs 50,000: New Variants Introduced
Mahindra has announced a price increase for its XUV700, a key model in the mid-size segment. The car is well-received for its features and safety. This price adjustment affects specific variants, with some seeing an increase of up to ₹ 50,000. Additionally, Mahindra has introduced two new variants and discontinued the 6-seater options.
After the festive period, Mahindra raised the price of the XUV700 by up to ₹ 50,000 for certain variants. Notably, two new diesel options have been added to the AX3 variant lineup. However, the company has decided to discontinue the 6-seater versions from their offerings.

The AX7 Manual 7-seater petrol variant now costs ₹ 19.64 lakh, reflecting a ₹ 15,000 increase. Meanwhile, the MX MT 5-seater, MX MT 7-seater, and AX3 MT 5-seater petrol variants have seen the highest hike of ₹ 50,000. These models were previously priced at ₹ 13.99 lakh and are now available at ₹ 14.49 lakh.
Interestingly, petrol variants like MX MT 5-seater and AX3 MT 5-seater equipped with ESP technology remain unaffected by this price hike. This pricing strategy may encourage customers to opt for models with ESP over those without it.
Mahindra has not increased prices for any diesel variants of the XUV700. However, they have introduced two new diesel options in the AX3 variant: the AX3 MT 7-seater priced at ₹ 17.99 lakh and the AX3 MT 7-seater ESP variant at ₹ 18.49 lakh.
The discontinuation of the premium rear-seat option in these models is noteworthy as it was a unique selling point for some buyers. Despite this change, Mahindra's XUV700 continues to compete with rivals like Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in the market.
Market Competition and Customer Impact
The XUV700 faces competition from Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus, both offering 6-seater variants. Mahindra's decision to discontinue their own 6-seater option might impact customer choices but is not expected to significantly affect overall sales.
Despite this price increase, Mahindra's XUV700 maintains its popularity among consumers. While some fans may be surprised by the hike, it is unlikely to deter potential buyers significantly.
In automotive industry practices, periodic price adjustments are common as companies aim to balance production costs and market demand. Mahindra's recent changes focus on select variants while introducing new options to attract diverse customer preferences.
