Mahindra Unveils Budget-Friendly XUV700 MX Automatic Variant With Petrol Engine
Mahindra is set to launch the budget-friendly MX automatic variant of its XUV700 SUV. This new variant will come exclusively with a petrol engine, expanding the company's lineup to meet diverse customer needs.
The older model of the XUV700 MX version had seating for five people and was available with either a petrol or diesel engine, along with a 6-speed manual transmission. Mahindra has now introduced a new version of the MX model with seating for seven people, offering both petrol and diesel engine choices.

New Features and Pricing
The upcoming XUV700 MX AT variant will be available only as a five-seater with a petrol powertrain. Currently, the Mahindra XUV700 MX petrol MT variant (5-seater) starts at Rs 14 lakh, ex-showroom. The new MX petrol AT version (5-seater) is expected to cost around Rs 1.80 lakh more than the manual variant.
Engine and Performance
In terms of engine, the XUV700 MX variant is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 195 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The feature set of the XUV700 MX petrol AT is likely to be similar to the recently introduced petrol MT variant.

Interior and Features
Inside, the SUV will feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, Android Auto, USB ports, a 4-speaker sound system, tilt-adjustable steering, rear AC vents, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Exterior features include follow-me-home headlamps, arrow-shaped LED tail-lamps, full-size wheel covers, and smart door handles.
Safety Features
On the safety front, the XUV700 MX AT is expected to have the same features as the MX manual trim. These include dual airbags, speed-sensitive door locks, Electronic Stability Control, and ISOFIX. The XUV700 has received a five-star safety rating for Adult Occupant protection and a four-star rating for Child Occupant protection in Global NCAP crash tests.
Mahindra's strategic approach to expanding its XUV700 range reflects its commitment to offering diverse options and meeting the evolving preferences of Indian car buyers. This new automatic variant aims to appeal to customers looking for a more convenient driving experience without compromising on affordability.
