Upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO SUV Teased – Launch Date Confirmed, It Could Even Be An EV
Mahindra has released a new teaser video of its upcoming SUV, the XUV 3XO. The 30-second teaser video partially reveals a few highlights of the Mahindra XUV 3XO including the rear section of the model.
Starting with the rear section, the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO features a full-width LED taillamp that is currently in trend across the globe. A closer look at the taillamp also reveals a diamond pattern to make the taillamp look more interesting.
This diamond pattern can be spotted on plenty of design elements of the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO. This pattern is present in the headlights, front grille, and the seats. In fact, the headlight of the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO seems to be shaped like a diamond.
Looking into the details, the upcoming Mahindra XUV3XO features projector LED headlights, and cornering lamps, along with what appears to be LED foglights that are positioned just below the headlight projector module.
Other details on the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO include the inclusion of a rear wiper, a new set of diamond-cut alloy wheels, perforated leather/leatherette seats, and finally soft-touch lining on the dashboard to make the model look and feel more premium.
If the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO is a replacement for the Mahindra XUV300, we expect the model to carry forward the same powertrain options as its predecessor. This is because the Mahindra XUV300 already comes with punchy powertrain options that are better than most of its rivals.
At present, the base 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine (TCMPFi) in the outgoing XUV300 is tuned to produce 108.6bhp and 200Nm of torque, whereas the more powerful 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine (TGDi) is tuned to produce 128.7bhp and 230Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine in the Mahindra XUV300 produces 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. That being said, we expect Mahindra to ditch the 6-speed AMT gearbox in favour of a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission or a DCT unit.
According to the teaser video, the Mahindra XUV 3XO will be launched on April 29. That being said, we expect this new model from Mahindra to be a replacement for the ageing Mahindra XUV300 SUV.
However, there are reasons to believe otherwise as well. A closer look at the teaser video also raises many questions. These details include a sealed front grille and aero-optimised diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Looking at the above-listed details, the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO is to be an electric SUV. If so, we expect this model to compete against the Tata Punch EV and Tata Nexon EV.
Thoughts About The Mahindra XUV 3XO
Looking at the teaser, the Mahindra XUV 3XO does look very attractive and we expect the model to be a head-turner. If this model is the replacement for the Mahindra XUV300, we expect it to be a lot more successful as well.
That being said, given the presence of a few details such as a sealed front grille and aero-optimised diamond-cut alloy wheels, the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO could even be an electric SUV.
