Mahindra XUV 3XO's Sales Skyrocket In India Following Launch
The Mahindra XUV 3XO has seen a notable rise in sales since its debut. In May 2024, it sold 10,000 units in its first month. By August 2024, sales reached 9,000 units, nearly doubling the 4,992 units sold in the same month the previous year.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) launched the XUV 3XO across India, selling 1,500 units by the end of the month. Within an hour of opening bookings, over 50,000 were recorded. Notably, around 70% of these bookings were for the petrol variant.
Consequently, the Mahindra XUV 3XO achieved an 80% year-on-year (YoY) sales growth. However, month-on-month (MoM) sales saw a slight decline of 10%, with July 2024 sales at 10,000 units.
This compact SUV is available in nine variants: MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 Luxury, AX7, and AX7 Luxury. The XUV 3XO offers three engine options: a 1.2L petrol engine producing 115 PS and 200 Nm of torque; a more powerful 1.2L petrol delivering 130 PS and 250 Nm of torque; and a 1.5L diesel generating 117 PS and 300 Nm of torque.
Gearbox choices include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT, and a 6-speed TC. Due to price differences between fuel options, petrol variants are more popular among customers than diesel ones.
The feature list includes modern amenities such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. It also has a wireless smartphone charger, a seven-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, six airbags, and advanced safety features like auto hold with EPB and blind view monitor. Additionally, it is equipped with a 360-degree camera for enhanced visibility.
The renamed XUV 3XO offers improved practicality and larger boot space compared to its predecessor. While the MX3 Pro diesel provides excellent value for money, buyers seem to prefer the feature-rich AX5 and AX5 Luxury variants for their balance between price and features.
With strong sales performance and various variants catering to different customer preferences, the Mahindra XUV 3XO remains a strong contender in the compact SUV segment.
