Mahindra XUV 3XO Surpasses Competitors With Stellar First Month Sales

Within the first month of launching the 3XO, Mahindra sold 10,000 units, surpassing competitors like Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.

The XUV 3XO is a revamped version of Mahindra's XUV300. It aims to strengthen Mahindra's presence in the sub-compact segment, competing with models like Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon. The SUV quickly gained popularity, with Mahindra delivering 2,500 units within the first three days of its launch.

Delivery and Variants

Mahindra initially delivered entry-level variants such as M1, MX2, and MX2 Pro, priced between ₹10 lakh and ₹13.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Delivery of top-end variants like AX7 and AX7 L started this month, which is expected to boost sales further.

The XUV 3XO offers three powertrain options: two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The petrol variants include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit. These engines produce between 110 bhp and 129 bhp, with torque ranging from 200 Nm to 230 Nm.

The diesel variant features a 1.5-litre engine but has not attracted as much interest as the petrol options. According to Mahindra, three out of every five XUV 3XO SUVs booked are petrol variants.

Mahindra has equipped the XUV 3XO with numerous tech and comfort features to make it more appealing against its rivals. Key features include a panoramic sunroof, ADAS technology, 17-inch alloy wheels, and dual-zone climate control.

Features

The SUV also boasts a 10.2-inch infotainment screen with AdrenoX operating system, electronic parking brake, six airbags as standard, wireless charger, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

Mahindra's strategy to deliver entry-level variants first appears to have paid off. The rapid delivery rate helped the company achieve significant sales milestones quickly. The introduction of top-end variants is likely to sustain this momentum.

The XUV 3XO's strong initial sales performance indicates robust demand in the sub-compact SUV segment. With its competitive pricing and feature-rich offerings, it is well-positioned to continue its success in the Indian market.
