Mahindra XEV 9e Launched At Rs 21.9 Lakh - 656km Range
Indian SUV specialist Mahindra has launched the XEV 9e electric SUV in India. Prices for the Mahindra XEV 9e start at Rs 21.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries will start at the end of February, 2025.
The Mahindra XEV 9e like the new BE 6E is underpinned by the Mumbai marque's in-house developed INGLO EV platform and is the production version of the XUV.e9 concept that was revealed last year in England.
The Mahindra XEV 9e is in essence the all-electric version of the XUV700 in coupe form. At the front, the XEV 9e sports a full-width LED lightbar-style DRL that stretches down at the edges of the SUV. Other highlights include new headlamps, a coupe-style roof, black side cladding, 20-inch alloy wheels and full-width LED taillights.
The interiors are dominated by three screens that stretch across the top of the layered dashboard. Run by Mahindra's new MAIA AI setup, the infotainment screen offers different modes; allows for wireless connectivity and OTA updates.
The infotanment unit is connected to a Harmon Kardon sound system with 16 speakers and immersive Dolby Atmos support.
Other highlights of the new Mahindra XUV 9e include the rotary dial for the different driving modes, twin wireless phone chargers, an augmented reality heads-up display, a glass roof that illuminates, ambient lighting and an air purification system.
The Mahindra XEV 9e single motor setup powers the rear wheels and produces a maximum output 281.6bhp. The Mahindra XEV 9e sprints from 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds.
The electric motor is powered by either 59kWh or 79kWh battery packs with the latter allowing for ARAI certified MIDC range of 656km on a single charge. The battery pack allows for 175kW DC fast charging which allows for a 20-80 per cent charge in just 20 minutes.
