Mahindra Reveals New Prices for SUV Favorites Thar, XUV700 & Scorpio N
Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra has made the decision to increase the prices of some of its highly popular models, following a trend seen across the automotive industry. This adjustment affects some of Mahindra's most prominent offerings, including the Thar, XUV700, and the Scorpio N, which hold a significant position in the domestic market.
These price changes have sparked curiosity among potential buyers and industry observers, and we take a closer look at the specifics of these revisions.
Mahindra Thar: An Icon Reinvented

The Mahindra Thar, synonymous with adventure and off-roading prowess, has experienced an upward price revision. The base variant of the Thar, which was originally priced at Rs 10.98 Lakh, will now cost buyers Rs 11.25 Lakh, marking a moderate hike. On the higher end of the spectrum, the top-end version price has increased from Rs 16.93 Lakh to Rs 17.20 Lakh.
Mid-variants of this SUV have seen price hikes ranging from Rs 23,000 to Rs 35,000. Notably, the LX petrol HT AT (RWD) variant has undergone the smallest increase of Rs 23,000, while the AX(O) HT MT with MLD (Diesel) variant bears the brunt of the highest price hike within the Thar lineup.
Mahindra XUV700: A Blended Approach to Pricing

When it comes to the Mahindra XUV700, the pricing strategy has been more nuanced with selective increases and decreases across its variant range. The entry-level MX (petrol manual) variant has become slightly more affordable, now priced at Rs 13.99 lakh compared to the earlier Rs 14.03 Lakh, providing a small relief of Rs 4,000.
The petrol automatic iterations of the AX3 and AX5 have also seen price reductions of Rs 8,000 and Rs 16,000, respectively. Conversely, the high-end AX7L 7-seater AWD diesel automatic variant's price tag has swollen by Rs 42,000, and it now stands at Rs 26.99 lakh.

The steepest hike within the XUV700 family has been allotted to the AX7L – 7-seater petrol automatic variant with an increase of Rs 57,000.
Moreover, the XUV700's latest price revision comes with the added allure of new features in the 2024 model. The inclusion of captain seats in the second row, ventilated front seats, and ORVMs with a memory function are notable additions. Aesthetically, the vehicle is now offered in a new Napoli Black color, further enhancing its appeal.
Mahindra Scorpio N & Scorpio Classic: The Legacy Continues

In the case of the Mahindra Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic, the pricing landscape has been more mixed. A silver lining exists as certain variants like the Z8L 4WD (diesel manual) and Z8 4WD and Z8L 4WD (diesel automatic) have retained their original pricing. However, other models in the Scorpio range have undergone price revisions.
The Scorpio N's petrol manual variants are now pricier, with a hike between Rs 34,000 and Rs 39,000. For those favoring automatic transmissions, the price increase ranges from Rs 17,000 to Rs 20,000.

As for the diesel variants, manual options have seen hikes from Rs 1,000 to Rs 39,000, while automatic variants have become dearer by an amount ranging from Rs 11,000 to Rs 26,000. The entry-level Z2 7-seater petrol manual variant of the Scorpio N starts at Rs 13.60 lakh, and the top-of-the-line Z8L 4WD diesel automatic variant is now retailing at Rs 24.54 lakh.
The Scorpio Classic, known for its robust and traditional design, has seen its price bracket shift to Rs 13.59 lakh to Rs 17.35 lakh. Available in four trims, the first two variants have witnessed an increase of Rs 34,000, whereas the top-end variants have seen a hike of Rs 29,000.
