Mahindra Thar Roxx Bags 5-Star Safety Rating From Bharat-NCAP
Safety ratings have become a crucial factor when purchasing a new car in India. Moreover, Indian car manufacturers such as Tata and Mahindra are running at the forefront with multiple offerings with a 5-Star safety rating.
Now, the Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV has bagged a 5-Star safety rating from Bharat-NCAP. In fact, the Thar Roxx scored 5-Star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection. Also, the overall score acquired by the Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV under the Bharat NCAP testing is the highest among all ICE vehicles tested, making it one of the safest vehicles you can currently buy in India.

Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)
The Mahindra Thar Roxx scored an impressive 31.09 points out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) testing. This is the second-highest score by any vehicle tested by Bharat NCAP. The Highest score was bagged by Tata Punch EV, which scored 31.46 points.
According to the report, protection offered to the driver's and the passenger's head and neck region was noted as good, whereas protection to the driver's chest and knee area was reported as adequate.

Delving into the details, the Thar Roxx secured 15.09 points out of 16.00 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, and bagged full 16 points on the side movable deformable barrier test. However, for the side pole impact test, the Thar Roxx was rated as OK, but managed to comply with the ESC test requirements.
Child Occupant Protection (COP)
Under the Child Occupant Protection (COP) testing, the Mahindra Thar Roxx scored 45 out of 49 points, which is the same as the Tata Punch EV and the highest among all cars tested by Bharat NCAP.

Looking into details, the Thar Roxx managed to bag full points for the dynamic test (24/24) and CRS installation test (12/12). However, in the vehicle assessment test, the Thar Roxx managed to score just 9 points out of 13.
Other Details
However, unlike Global NCAP crash test reports, Bharat NCAP does not mention if the body shell was stable under impact or capable of withstanding further loads. Furthermore, the Bharat NCAP test also lacks detailed a report on the level of protection offered to the child dummies like Global NCAP test reports.
