Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-Door Second Teaser Out: Uprated Features & More
Mahindra has now released a new teaser of its upcoming Thar Roxx 5-door SUV. The new model is set to launch on 15th August and will be around 300 mm longer than the current 3-door version, which measures 3,985 mm in length. This new addition aims to attract more buyers compared to the existing Thar models available in both 4×4 and 4×2 formats.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx will compete directly with the Force Gurkha 5-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny. It is expected to start at a price of Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), with exact pricing to be disclosed at launch. Deliveries are anticipated to begin shortly after the official release.
Exterior Features
As per the teaser video, the upcoming Mahindra Thar Roxx reveals several exterior upgrades over the 3-door variant. These include a redesigned vertically stacked grille, updated LED headlights, LED DRLs, circular fog lamps, and squared-off LED tail lights. The teaser also highlights dual-tone ORVMs and a background song 'Inteha Ho Gayi Intezaar Ki' that adds to the anticipation.
The exterior also features new dual-tone diamond-cut alloys, black-finished front door handles, body-coloured rear door handles, faux skid plates, and a front camera. The bumpers now sport a contrasting silver finish instead of the all-black bumpers seen on the 3-door model. Additionally, it boasts new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that enhance its premium look.
Interior Features
While detailed information about the interiors is limited, it is speculated that the top variant of the Thar Roxx might come with a panoramic sunroof. Other possible features include a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and dual-tone climate controls.
The interior could also offer ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry with push-button start, and a 360-degree camera. Safety features are expected to include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Engine Options
The Mahindra Thar Roxx will likely share its engine options with the current Thar 3-door but may offer enhanced performance. The engines include a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine delivering 150 hp and 300 Nm torque and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine producing 132hp and 300Nm torque.
These engines will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Similar to the existing model, the Thar Roxx is expected to come with standard rear-wheel drive and an optional four-wheel-drive setup.
The most notable update in this model is its extended wheelbase designed to accommodate two extra doors and additional rear seats. This change aims to provide more space and comfort for passengers while maintaining its rugged appeal.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx promises significant enhancements in both design and functionality over its predecessor. With its launch just around the corner, it is poised to make a strong impact in its segment.
