The total number of tractors sold (including exports) during this period was 47,319 units, up from 44,478 units the previous year. In June 2024, exports accounted for 1,431 units.
Growth Factors and Future Outlook
Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s Farm Equipment Sector, commented on the company's performance, stating that domestic sales in June 2024 saw a 6% growth over the previous year.
He attributed this increase to several factors such as the government's announcement of higher foodgrain production, a rise in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for major Kharif crops, and the advancement of the Southwest monsoon across India. These developments have created positive sentiments among farmers.

Sikka also noted that retail momentum has picked up due to land preparation and an increase in Kharif crop sowing. As a result, he expects demand for tractors to remain strong in the coming months. In terms of exports, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s FES sold 1,431 tractors in June 2024 – a growth of 28% compared to the same period last year.
