Mahindra BE 6e Launched At Rs 18.9 Lakh - 682km Range
Indian SUV specialist Mahindra has launched the BE 6e electric SUV in India. Prices for the Mahindra BE 6e start at Rs 18.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries Start in late February.
The Mahindra BE 6e is the production version of the BE. 05 concept that was revealed last year in England. The new BE 6e retains most of the design cues of the concept car.
The Mahindra BE 6e's C-Shaped LED DRLs wrap around the LED headlights. The electric SUV features a short stubby front end, muscular and flared wheelarches, coupe-like roof and some rather snazzy 18-inch alloy wheels.
The coupe-like roof is a fully laminated glass unit and where it curves down at the rear, you find twin spoilers. Another spoiler can be found on the boot lip as well. The rear sports C-shaped LED taillights.
The interior features twin displays for the infotainment and instrumentation, a two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated BE logo. The BE 6e's displays are all run with the help of Mahindra's new MAIA AI system which also allows for OTA updates.
Other highlights include the Harmon Kardon 16-speaker hi-fi audio system that has a system output of 1400 watts and features Dolby Atmos tech and was developed with the help of A.R. Rehman. The BE 6e system's glass roof mentioned earlier that protects against harmful UV radiation, wireless phone chargers and an air purifier system.
The Mahindra BE 6e is offered with either a 59kWh or 79kWh LFP battery pack that is completely sealed off and Mahindra claims is resistant to fire, water and vibrations. The 79kWh battery pack has an ARAI certified MIDC range of 682km (claimed 500km+ in the real world) and a 20-80 per cent charging time of 20 minutes (175kW DC).
The battery pack is connected to a single electric motor as part of the INGLO platform that underpins the Mahindra BE 6e. The electric motor delivers 281.6bhp which allows the Mahindra BE 6e to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 6.7 seconds.
