Mahindra has introduced the BE 6e, an electric coupe-SUV, with a starting price of Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This vehicle is the first under Mahindra's new electric-only BE sub-brand. Its design closely resembles its concept version, featuring sharp lines, pronounced wheel arches, and distinctive C-shaped LED daytime running lights.

Features & Tech

The BE 6e's interior is innovative, boasting dual 12.3-inch screens and a new MAIA software system powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor. It also includes an augmented reality head-up display, a Dolby Atmos 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and dual-zone climate control. Additional features are a panoramic sunroof, auto park assist, and Level 2 ADAS suite.

Powertrain

Two battery pack options are available for the BE 6e: 59kWh and 79kWh with Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. The smaller battery produces 228hp while the larger one delivers 281hp, both offering a torque of 380Nm. Initially available in rear-wheel drive, the higher-spec variant accelerates from 0-100kph in just 6.7 seconds.

Range & Charging

The vehicle offers multiple drive modes including Range, Everyday, Race, and Boost mode. The larger battery pack provides an ARAI-certified range of up to 682km. Fast charging capabilities allow charging from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger.

Dimensions & Design Highlights

The BE 6e measures 4,371mm in length, 1,907mm in width, and stands at a height of 1,627mm with a wheelbase of 2,775mm. These dimensions match the XEV 9e to optimise costs across INGLO platform models. It features aero-optimised wheels measuring 19 inches with optional upgrades to 20 inches.

The vehicle's ground clearance is set at 207mm with a turning circle of less than ten meters. Boot space is ample at 455 liters along with an additional frunk space of 45 liters for extra storage needs.

Delivery Timeline

Deliveries for Mahindra's BE 6e are expected to commence by late February or early March in the year following next year. More details regarding pricing will be disclosed during January at the Bharat Mobility Show.
