Mahindra Thar Roxx Unveiled: 5-Door Thar To Be Launched On August 15
Mahindra & Mahindra has revealed that its upcoming 5-door version of the Thar will be named Mahindra Thar Roxx. The official launch is set for August 15. The Thar Roxx aims to disrupt the SUV market with its unique design, advanced technology, and enhanced performance.
Distinctive Design & Features
The Mahindra Thar Roxx features circular LED headlamps with LED DRLs, fog lights, and taillamps. It also sports a new grille and redesigned alloy wheels. A 360-degree camera setup enhances safety and convenience. The rear door handle is positioned on the door frame for easy access.

While interior images are not yet available, expectations are high for a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a matching digital instrument cluster. A panoramic sunroof is also anticipated to be part of the package.
Advanced Technology and Safety
The Thar Roxx is expected to include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), making it the third Mahindra SUV to feature this technology after the XUV700 and XUV 3XO. This addition will enhance safety and driving comfort.
"The 'Thar Roxx' with its distinctive design, premium quotient, advanced technology, enhanced performance, sophistication, and safety is 'The' SUV. While retaining the core attributes of the iconic Thar the 'Thar ROXX' represents the larger-than-life personality of a rockstar and will disrupt the SUV category," said Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra.
Powertrain Options
The powertrains for the Mahindra Thar Roxx are likely to be shared with the current Thar models. These include a 1.5-litre D117 CRDe diesel engine producing 118PS and 300Nm, a 2.2-litre mHawk 130 CRDe diesel engine delivering 132PS and 300Nm, and a 2.0-litre mStallion 150 TGDi petrol engine generating 152PS and 320Nm. Transmission options will include both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Pricing and Competition
The price for the Mahindra Thar Roxx is expected to start at Rs 12.50 lakh and go up to Rs 18.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with models like the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha in the Indian market.
Mahindra's current SUV lineup includes models such as Bolero, Bolero Neo, Bolero Neo Plus, XUV 3XO, Thar 3-door, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N, XUV700, and the electric XUV400. The introduction of the Thar Roxx is expected to further strengthen Mahindra's position in the SUV segment.

The launch of Mahindra Thar Roxx marks another significant step in expanding their robust SUV portfolio while offering customers more choices in terms of design, technology, and performance.
