Madonna fans and classic car enthusiasts have a unique opportunity to own a rare Jaguar once owned by the global music icon. This 1967 Jaguar Mark X 4.2, purchased by Madonna in 2021 for her son Rocco Ritchie, is set to be auctioned by H&H Classics on Wednesday, 9th October at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.

The car, which has been driven regularly by Rocco around London, will be offered with no reserve. Lucas Gomersall, a motor car specialist at H&H Classics, expressed excitement about the sale: "It’s incredible to be offering a Jaguar for sale with such close connections to Madonna and I’m sure fans and classic car collectors will be hung up on this Mark X."

This particular Jaguar model is notable not only for its celebrity connection but also for its rarity. Only 5,137 units of the Jaguar Mark X 4.2 litre were ever produced. The model was in production for just two years and was primarily aimed at the North American market. It featured technical innovations like independent rear suspension and could reach speeds of up to 120mph.

Lucas added: "There were only 5,137 Jaguar Mark X 4.2 litre models ever built. Our auction offers the chance to own an important piece of British motoring history that has also been bought by one of the most famous people on the planet. It’s a car that will always remain in vogue."

The Jaguar Mark X 4.2 was designed to appeal to heads of state, diplomats, and film stars due to its large and luxurious build. At its launch, it impressed with its technical specifications and innovations uncommon in early 1960s British luxury cars. The model handled well at less than half the price of a contemporary Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud.

Recently repainted in Opalescent Maroon, this particular example comes with its original green log book. Madonna herself was photographed posing with the car just months ago, with images shared on her Instagram and featured in national press.

The auction will take place on Wednesday, 9th October at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.
