Luftgekühlt 10 To Showcase Iconic 1971 Martini Racing Porsche 917K At Anniversary Gathering
The Luftgekühlt event, celebrating its tenth anniversary, will take place at the Universal Studios Backlot on October 5, 2024. This event is renowned for showcasing iconic air-cooled Porsche cars. Attendees can expect to see a remarkable collection of rare sports and racing vehicles, including the 1971 Martini Racing Porsche 917K from the Miles Collier Collections at Revs Institute in Naples, Florida.
The Porsche 917K, chassis #019, is a standout feature of the event. It retains its original condition from when it competed in the Spa 1000km race in 1971. Initially raced by Porsche Salzburg in 1970, it later joined the Martini Racing Team. This car contributed to Porsche's International Championship for Makes victories in both 1970 and 1971.
Visitors will have the opportunity to hear the powerful sound of the 917K’s flat-12 engine during a special "Moment of Power" at Luft 10. The engine boasts a capacity of 4907cc and produces 600 horsepower, propelling a car that weighs just 1760 pounds. This experience promises to be a highlight for enthusiasts attending the event.
Luftgekühlt will also feature hundreds of air-cooled Porsches selected by their team from registered attendees. These cars will be displayed throughout the Universal Studios Backlot. Visitors can access detailed information about each vehicle using the Bramo app by scanning QR codes on display cars.
General Admission tickets and some Early Admission tickets are still available for purchase at luftgekuhlt.com/pages/luft-10. However, all car display tickets have been sold out. Based on past events, organizers anticipate that Luft 10 will sell out before October 5th, so early ticket purchase is advised to avoid disappointment.
For those seeking more Porsche-related activities, there are additional events scheduled from October 3-6. These include various pre- and post-Luft activities catering to all enthusiasts' interests. Some events may require registration or tickets.

Luftgekühlt welcomes Bilstein as a new partner this year. Known for their expertise in suspension systems, Bilstein has supported both factory and privateer Porsche teams over the years. Their space at Luft will feature Wally Jeans' Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR built by Kremer Racing.
Pirelli returns with a display of performance tyres specifically designed for Porsches. They will also offer limited edition posters created with Luft's collaboration. Tag Heuer joins with their own limited edition poster alongside Patrick Dempsey’s classic Porsche 356 from 1963.

Luftgekühlt celebrates all air-cooled Porsches from models like Pre-A 356 to the last of its kind in the series ending in 1998 with model number '993'. It started as an intimate gathering but has grown into an international phenomenon attracting global audiences through unique venues and creative expressions.
