Long Beach BMW Motorcycles Delivers Milestone 2,000th Authority Motorcycle To Law Enforcement

Long Beach BMW Motorcycles, an authorised BMW Motorrad dealer, delivered its 2,000th Authority BMW motorcycle in June. The milestone vehicle, a BMW R 1250 RT-P, was handed over to the Law Enforcement Community. This dealership has been supplying police motorcycles since 2004 and is a key player in California's largest Authority vehicle market.

BMW has been manufacturing authority vehicles for over five decades. More than 10,000 authority motorcycles are currently in service with over 600 agencies globally. The U.S. program began in 1994 with the K 75 RT-P model. Today, around 3,500 BMW R 1250 RT-P motorcycles are used by U.S. agencies.

The BMW R 1250 RT-P is equipped with advanced technology and safety features. Its 136 hp boxer twin engine offers excellent acceleration and stability due to its low centre of gravity. Features like ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Full LED lighting, and Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment enhance its performance as a duty vehicle.

Charles Berthon, General Manager of Long Beach BMW Motorcycles, reflected on their journey: "This year we celebrated our 20th year as a Motorrad Dealer, having started off wanting to focus on the Authority business. In our first year, we delivered twenty R 1150 RT-P motorcycles, with initial deliveries to the City of Long Beach." He credited their success to the dedication of employees who have been with them since the beginning.

Berthon also highlighted the importance of referrals from various agencies across California. "Most employees have stayed with us since 2004 and have been instrumental in expanding our Authority business statewide by providing the highest levels of service to all our customers," he said.

Recognition from BMW Motorrad USA

Sergio Carvajal, Head of Aftersales Business Development at BMW Motorrad USA, praised Long Beach BMW Motorcycles: "We congratulate every staff member at Long Beach BMW Motorcycles on reaching this meaningful milestone of delivering their 2,000th BMW Authority motorcycle." He acknowledged their commitment to serving agencies across California for two decades.

Carvajal added that they are proud of their dealer partners nationwide who help keep roads safe by providing reliable motorcycles for officers and agencies. "For 20 years, the dedicated team at Long Beach BMW has been meeting the needs of agencies across the State of California," he noted.

The Role of BMW Group in America

The BMW Group has had a presence in the United States since 1975 through BMW of North America, LLC. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars NA began distributing vehicles in 2003. The group includes marketing, sales, and financial services for brands like MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

BWM Manufacturing Co., LLC in South Carolina serves as the global competence centre for X models like X3 and X7 Sports Activity Vehicles. The group's sales headquarters for North America is located in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.

The extensive network includes 350 centres for passenger cars and Sports Activity Vehicles, along with numerous motorcycle retailers and dealers for MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles across the country.
